A collection of images of natural and cultural sites encountered on a trip through Armenia. These include the so-called “Symphony of Stones” in Garni Gorge, a vast area of river carved basalt columns; a complex of natural and man made caves on the side of a gorge that constitued the village of Khndzoresk, inhabited until the 20th century; Karahunj, the “Armenian Stonehendge, a prehistoric monument consisting of hundreds of vertically set rocks (Menghirs); the first century pagan temple at Garni, built in Roman Ionic style; a museum memorializing the Mikoyan brothers--one a Soviet diplomat and the other designer of the Mig fighter jets; the abandoned ruins of various Soviet projects—a factory town, a resort, a swimming and diving complex; The Armenian Genocide Memorial; the Cascade monumental staircase and other structures and sculptures of contemporary Yerevan.
